About Months From Today
Adding months is calendar-based, not a fixed day count: the day of the month stays the same whenever the target month has one. Because months vary from 28 to 31 days, the exact number of days in N months depends on which months you cross.
- If today is January 15th, 1 month from now is February 15th
- When the target month is shorter, the date rolls back to its last day: 1 month from January 31 lands on the last day of February (the 28th, or 29th in leap years)
- 12 months from today always lands on the same date next year
